Lovely country pub. Excellent selection of beers. Rooms clean and of good size. Ensuite facilities good. TV in rooms fantastic - excellent range of channels and brillant picture/reception. Food, including breakfast excellent and very good value. Landlord/lady very friendly and helpful. All in all an excellent place to stay to see sights of Cornwall.

We had a deluxe room - the bed was big and very comfortable and we had a beautiful view of the river. We had the gourmet meal in the restaurant which was delicious (it would have been nice if the waiter/waitress had told us what each course was when they served them as we had forgotten by the time we reached course 4!).

We have never stayed at such a lovely, individual-styled hotel. Decor was superb only outshone by the warm welcome extended to us by Mike and all his employees work in hotel York.Enjoyed a wonderful cooked breakfast in the very elegant dining room. My husband and I decided to spend a night away - somewhere at the coast. We stayed at The Courtlands hotel as it was so close (walking distance) to the beach and Brighton town centre. It turned out to be an excellent choice as we had a variety of restaurants and interesting shops and markets on our doorstep. The hotel was comfortable, with spacious bedrooms, the employees work in hotel Courtlands was friendly and helpful and the breakfast scrumptious. Many thanks for a lovely night away.
